Our Families Together projects developed from our baseline InSight projects.
We found from our experience running InSight projects that many of our guests have complex needs.
And while many of these needs can be addressed within the inSight setting, certain guests are more comfortable with a dedicated project and their own space.
Families in difficult circumstances can become very isolated for many reasons.
We work with young families in the most deprived areas of the diocese, with our Caritas volunteers helping to build confidence and community contact. This can lead on to re-engagement with the education and training, with access to employment, with improvements in mental health with all family members and with better access to play and the outdoors for younger members of the family.
Food and household goods referrals are made when needed. Holiday clubs for children in absolute poverty are organised during school breaks, where there may be difficulties with availability of regular meals for the children at home.
